What is Roundtable + Roundtable Labs?

There's no shortage of groups out there for us financial & data types.

But 'a lot' doesn't necessarily mean enough.

A short quiz:

Is your definition of success not only about the dollars but

about the sense behind them?

Have you often found yourself having to explain to others what you mean before you can even begin to share and explore what you want?

Can you remember the last time a group session left you rushing...

to write something down?

to offer to share?

to try something out?

to reach out with and for more?

Do you feel over-equipped for your environment, but still

strangely under-supported by it?

or worse, unwelcome in it?

If you answered yes to any one of these questions, chances are you're our kind of people and might have just found your place.

So what makes Roundtable different?

We'd like to change that question. It should be who -- WHO makes Roundtable different?

And the answer is really in the question - we are about the people. We all make it what it is.

So, *who* is this place?

Roundtable ~ This is the community. Roundtable was created by the Quasar Cowboy, Richard Roppa-Roberts. It began as it continues today -- a way to get together with and support people passionate about their work in the accounting space and ready to discover something new in their pursuit of entrepreneurship. It's been going strong since 2015, and shows no sign of slowing down! And there is much more than just that original Roundtable now!

Roundtable Labs & The Skylab ~ These are the testing grounds and the platform. The ecosystem you're reading this article in right this very second. The aim for Roundtable is beyond any one individual Roundtable. We want to give Roundtable members a scale-able, permanent landing pad; to enrich our community and diversify the Roundtable experience. We wanted a place to experiment, to share. So we are building one! Think of it as the five year anniversary upgrade!

How is Roundtable different?

from things like a facebook group, or a simple slack community?

  • It’s Ours. As we build this community together, we have ever expanding opportunities for creating exclusive content, deeper conversations, richer polls, and online or in-real-life events. Plus, by rooting this community outside of social media, in the 'real world', you'll find a more focused and stable experience with us and with each other.

  • There are More Ways for You to 'Community'. Ways for you to meet people who are near you, who fall into the same categories, or who care about the same topics. Ways to reach out, to connect, to contribute. We haven't found a way to do this so easily in free groups or on a website elsewhere.

  • We Can Bring Together Content and Collaboration. We have more time to facilitate all the new, fresh ideas and brilliant practices that you take into your daily life, and hopefully share with our community here.

We’re aiming to make your experience awesome. To that end, here are

Five key things that Roundtable Labs has to offer:

  1. Exclusive content and conversations you can't find anywhere else - because they are informed by you.

  2. Ways to discover fellow Roundtablers who share your interests, who live near you, who do the same things, or who care about the same topics.

  3. Guidance on making better, more well-informed decisions about the things that are most important to you - colleague to colleague.

  4. Community camaraderie - beyond advice, these are stories, experiences, and ideas -- all orbiting around our shared pursuit of our individual missions.

  5. Dare we say a little inspiration, thought-provoking conversations, and lived in perspective each and every day?

So, now the big question -- are *you* this place?

Maybe! We invite you to stick around and take it all in for a bit. Let's find out!
